Europe football governing body, UEFA has taken to its twitter handle to celebrate Victor Osimhen’s winning goal against Roma in the Serie A on Sunday.
The body terms the Nigerian as phenomenal in a post immediately after the game “Osimhen is phenomenal,” a tweet on the body’s official handle reads.
Similarly, Roma coach, Jose Mourinho said the Nigerian striker was the difference maker in the tie where he believed his team deserved at least a draw after a battling performance.
“Osimhen scored from where many thought he couldn’t and it was the difference. Credit to him,” he said.
Legendary Italian and former Napoli forward, Gianfranco Zola also shares the same sentiment by describing the goal scored by the Nigerian as an extraordinary finish with the way he held off Smalling before rifling his effort home.
“Spalletti’s team has come up with a masterpiece: the Politano’s pass is exceptional, and Osimhen does an extraordinary thing, overcoming Smalling and shooting in an exceptional way,” he said while speaking as a guest of the ‘Domenica Sportiva,’ broadcast on Rai Due.
