An unidentified man has reportedly taken his own life by hanging in the Ogida area of Benin City.
The incident caused confusion in the area in the early hours of Friday, as residents gathered to catch a glimpse of the middle-aged
man who was found hanging from the ceiling of a sawmill in the market.
Witnesses said  the man was earlier seen in the area looking moody, unknown to them that he had a plan to take his life.
No one could fathom what could have forced the man to commit suicide, as he did not leave a suicide note behind.
Curiously, cooked beans and  loaves of bread, including some clothes were found beside his corpse, which was later taken to a mortuary.
The Edo State Police Command spokesman, Theodore Okafor, who confirmed the incident, said that the corpse had been deposited in a mortuary for a possible post-mortem.
