Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Jibowu-Yaba branch, Femi Akinboyeku, has urged the police to fish out the killers of a slain member of the union, Alowonle Asekun, and prosecute them.

The slain union member, Asekun, according to witnesses, was murdered at about 2pm last Friday by hoodlums wearing face caps to hide their identities.

It was gathered that a call was put through to the victim and he was on his way out when his killers attacked him and shot him three times.

Speaking to journalists at the Jibowu secretariat of the union, Akinboyeku regretted the manner in which the late union treasurer was killed in broad daylight in Ikorodu, Lagos, urging the police to investigate the event surrounding the shooting.

“The killing was suspicious; it was sad that the young man was killed in such a cruel manner. Somebody called me last Friday that he got a call from one of the alleged perpetrators of the crime, who obviously hid his phone number, telling him that they should go and pick the remains of Asekun, and that they had killed him. I suspect foul play and, from all indications, fingers are allegedly being pointed at the infamous Ereko boys.”
