Super Eagles’ first choice goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho has emerged as a huge doubt for Nigeria in their next competitive fixture after suffering a nasty injury in Elche’s 1-5 loss against Cadiz.
The 20 year old will be out for four weeks after he suffered a concussion.
Uzoho kept back to back clean sheets in his first two games for Elche in the Spanish second division but his reputation took a big hit on Sunday when he picked the ball out of his net five times against Cadiz.
He left the stadium in a stretcher after the game due to an injury he picked up in his attempt to ‎save the effort, which led to the goal. The pain prevented him from breathing normally but he had to endure until the final whistle.
It was gathered that he was immediately transferred to San Rafael de Cadiz clinic where he underwent X-rays scan to ascertain the severity of the injury.
Although he returned back with the rest of his teammates to Elche after the game, the club later announced that more tests would be conducted on him later today even though he can now breathe properly.
