After rigorous attempts to represent his people at the Senate, marred by electoral malpractices, former governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, emerged victorious in the Saturday, February 23, 2019, National Assembly election for Abia North senatorial district in the ninth session of the Senate. Duly voted  by the  people of Abia North in a free and fair election, Dr. Kalu’s well-deserved victory is guaranteed to bring effective and quality representation of his constituents in the Red Chamber considering his vast experience in business and politics.

Finally, hope is alive in Abia North; the people will smile again and enjoy infrastructural development and social welfare, which his predecessor failed to achieve.  As a seasoned politician and astute businessman,Dr. Kalu has all it takes to fix Abia North. Since he left office over a decade ago, after completing two terms as governor, his humanitarian and philanthropic efforts can be attested to by many, especially his people of Abia State.

Having worked closely with him as his personal photographer, in this edition, SunGlitz presents some iconic photos that highlight senator-elect, Dr. Kalu, during his rigorous campaigns for the Senate over the years.

A man who believe in grassroots campaign, he walks his talk, extending his campaign to all the wards in Abia North, including remote villages at the borders, reaching people and putting smiles on their faces.

The famed “Action Governor,” blessed with youthful vigour and focus, exemplifies Dale Carnegie’s saying, “Most of the most important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.” OUK is an epitome of perseverance and indomitable spirit. He is going to Senate to represent the people of Abia North and all Ndigbo. Congratulations.
