Organisers of Worship For Change and convener for Green Worship Event 4.0 is set to hold this year’s gospel concert with the theme, ‘More With You’ on Saturday, September 18, 2021 by 5pm via Zoom. 

 

Wale Adenuga, Chief Responsibility Officer, in a virtual chat with journalists said their mission is to raise awareness and support charities that take care for orphans and with children with special needs and indigent children.

 

“ Adenuga disclosed the concert will be aired on WAP Tv, DSTV 262 and Gotv and all their social media handles and the money raised will be used to support selected charity homes like like Leprosy Mission Nigeria, The Farid Centre, Minna,  Irede Foundation, Godswill Orphanage, Ayingba.

 

“ Gospel artistes expected to perform at the concert include Matt Redman, Nathaniel Bassey, Noel Robinson, Efe Nathan, Laolu Gbenjo and Wale Adenuga. Others are Folabi Nuel, Evans Ogboi, Purist Ogboi, Femi Okunuga, Ore Macaulay, David Omodunmiju and Angeloh.

 

“ Our intent is to raise N100m that will be used to support charity homes like Leprosy mission Nigeria, The Farid Centre, Minna,  Irede Foundation, Godswill Orphanage, Ayingba Charities responsibilities.

One of the beneficiaries for last year’s concert, Tola Makinde, a representative from Rainbow Dancing Drum Foundation commended the organisation for their consistency and tenacity noting that it has impacted the beneficiaries positively.

 

She recalled last year, her foundation got funds from the organisation and they were able to revive the cafe where teenagers and children with Down Syndrome were taught how to bake and improve on their culinary skills.

 

“  We were able to provide 32 cardigans for the students because they go to school without cardigans and we had never thought of it because of funds that we need to put into that. We also paid for three months drugs supply for one of the beneficiaries that has a heart condition and has been on medication since 2019. If we stop her medication and she suddenly falls ill, she might have a cardiac arrest.”

 

Another beneficiary, Pius Ogbu from Leprosy Mission commended the organisers for their support   and the money received was used support the Yangoji Leprosy Foundation, Abuja.

 

“ The mission has supported parents of the children with leprosy with vocational trainings for their while 215 children in Primary One to Six received sandals, socks, uniforms, customized bags, ten exercise books with writing materials. We also paid school fees of six students in tertiary institutions   which enabled them to continue further their education.
