Italian transfer market expert, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Villarreal is still in talks over the signing of Nigeria national teamer Umar Sadiq in the summer transfer window.

Last week, Almeria CEO Mohamed El Assy revealed that Sadiq was on the brink of leaving the club, as he explained why the striker was not involved in the pre-season friendly against Al-Hilal in England.

“The reason why Umar Sadiq did not come is because he is close to being sold, we are afraid that he will suffer an injury that will make the process difficult,” El Assy told reporters.

Villarreal is looking at selling the Super Eagles star for a little under €301 million (approximately N12.8 billion in Nigerian currency).
