Volleyball Premier League gets new date, venue

The Nigeria Volleyball Premier League (NVBL) will commence on November 3rd instead of the earlier date of November 1st, according to the Local Organising Committee, (LOC).
Alhaji Adamu Maikano, the Secretary General of the LOC in a notice to clubs communicating the new date, explained that the new venue is the indoor sports hall at the National Stadium Package B, Abuja.
“The new date of the League is from November 3rd to 10th in Abuja. The venue was changed from Kaduna to Abuja due to the safety of lives and properties of the Volleyball players ”, Maikano added.

Following the incessant declaration of curfew in Kaduna, the LOC has decided to reschedule the league and the date moved for only two days.
He said, “The League would have been held before now, but the Federation had to move it due to the country hosting the U21 Men’s Africa Volleyball Nations Cup and the Zonal Eliminations of the 19th National Sports
Festival. Nigeria Volleyball is under Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) and we had to shift our program”.
He further said, “The new date will be communicated to the participating teams today in order for them to prepare ahead of the new date.
“We didn’t think it would be appropriate for the clubs to still play in Kaduna under a tensed atmosphere”, the LOC official noted.
