The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State has said that it does not have to buy votes for President Muhammadu Buhari to win the election in the state, considering that Kano remains his strongest support base in the country.

The party vowed that the PDP in the state will suffer humiliation in the forthcoming gubernatorial and state Assembly elections, considering the numerous achievements recorded by the administration of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

Reacting to allegation of vote buying levelled against them by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the just concluded presidential and National Assembly elections, the Chairman, Publicity Committee, 2109 Elections, Malam Muhammad Garba, insisted that it would be an insult on the people of Kano for the PDP to attribute the overwhelming victory recorded by the APC in the state to voter inducement.

The chairman who is also the Commissioner for Information, Youth and Culture in the state, urged the PDP to go down the memory lane and recall how Muhammadu Buhari was overwhelmingly voted for in Kano during 2003, 2007, 2011 and 2015 presidential elections.

He pointed out that such an allegation from the PDP was not unexpected given the loss they have just suffered in the recent elections, which informed their bogus allegations against the APC.

“’This clearly indicates PDP’s desperation to discredit the process that has been applauded by local and international observers as one of the best ever organised elections in our political history,” the statement added.

He, therefore, called on the APC members, supporters and the public to disregard the allegation as mere rumour intended to draw sympathy from the electorate who have already made their mind to vote for the APC presidential and National Assembly candidates.
