Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq said the ruling APC has delivered pretty much on its campaign promises to the people.
Speaking at the official re-election campaign flag off for House of Representatives member Raheem Tunji Olawuyi Ajulo-opin in Omu Aran, the Governor said the administration is light-year apart from its predecessors in meeting the basic needs of the populace and repositioning Kwara for sustainable growth.
“They want to take us backwards. No, we have moved on in Kwara. Is it in education, water, workers’ welfare, rural urban development, or health? What was their record to deserve a comeback?” he queried, citing the records of the incumbent administration.
AbdulRazaq asked the citizens of the State to vote overwhelmingly for all APC candidates in the forthcoming general elections.
AbdulRazaq told the large gathering at the weekend  in Omu-aran that the return of Ajulo-opin to the House of Reprentatives for the third term will make him a ranking member and qualifies him for the Speakership position.
“It is important that we vote and return Ajulo-opin to the Green Chamber for the third term, so that he can become one of the most ranking members. This will qualify him to become the House Speaker. There are various benefits that will come to Kwara if we vote for him to attain that height,” he said.
He said the government will execute more infrastructural projects in the district, including the completion of the rehabilitation of Omu-Aran Water Work to improve people’s access to potable water.
The Governor had earlier visited the palace of Olomu of Omu-aran Oba Abdulraheem Adeoti, where he mentioned various projects of the administration in the town.
He also said the construction of the road leading to the palace will be approved shortly.
AbdulRazaq told the monarch that discussion was in progress with the African Development Bank and Federal Government to fix the federal road in Omu-aran.
Highlight of the event was the official presentation of APC’s flag to Ajulo-opin as flagbearer for Isin, Ekiti, Irepodun and Oke-Ero Federal Constituency in the 2023 general elections.
State APC Chairman Prince Sunday Fagbemi, for his part, said the performance of the APC government, both in Federal and the State, have been remarkable, and called on the people to repay the good works of the governments by voting for APC candidates at the poll.
Oba AbdulRaheem Adeoti, at the palace, thanked the Governor for supporting the party’s process to return Ajulo-opin to the House of Representatives, and promised to work for his victory.
