The President, All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Dr. Farouk Rabi’u-Mudi, has condoled with the family of Dr. Salim-Saleh Muhammad, President, Wheat Farmers Association of Nigeria (WFAN), who died on Sunday.

Mudi, who disclosed this in a statement he signed and made available to the media yesterday in Abuja, described the news of the death of Muhammad as an irreparable loss and sad development.

According to him, the late Muhammad, a Jigawa statesman, was a renowned farmer and leader respected globally, who believes in the future of Nigeria’s agriculture sector.

Mudi added that the late WFAN President was his mentor and a father to all.

“He is my mentor. He introduced me to association activities. He helped so much during our struggle to rescue AFAN and was a member of the seven-man committee to name AFAN,” he said.

Mudi, on behalf of the association, extended his condolences to loved ones, family and friends, WFAN and the entire people of Kano. The late WFAN President, who died on December 25 after a brief illness, was buried same day in Kano according to Islamic rites.
