Yesterday, Wednesday, January 20, all roads led to Shehu Yar’ Adua Centre, Abuja, FCT for the much anticipated launch of the New Nigeria Group (NNG) which was founded by Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa.
Speaking with The Sun Newspapers, one of the guests at the event, Mabel Oboh, ex gubernatorial candidate in the Edo 2020 elections described the initiative as laudable.
She began: “I recently became a member of the New Nigeria Group and today was the official launch of the group and I am very committed to the objectives of the platform. NNG is a laudable project with potential to transform our nation, Nigeria. NNG is about like minded Nigerians who are determined to install enlightened, visionary and committed leadership in Nigeria. Our aim is to get rid of poverty, optimize the country’s human and material resources in order to attain global competitiveness and most importantly build a nation where justice, equity, knowledge, integrity and fair play reigns supreme to name a few.”
Describing the founder of the group as dedicated and a devout Nigerian, Oboh continued: “Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa is a man of integrity, a patriotic Nigerian with a solid foundation in world class management. In a nutshell, he is one of the few excellent Nigerians standing. A leader we can truly trust the affairs of our nation to. I am very privileged to know him.”
How does the group hope to achieve its objectives? “We are recruiting likes mind, those that truly want a change in Nigeria. For any one to be a true member of The NNG, they will have to first be a new Nigerian at heart. I ran as a governorship candidate in Edo 2020 elections so I have first hand of what our main issues are.”
Oboh added: “With a leader like Mazi Ohuabunwa, I am certain that Nigeria is about to transform for the better and for or now, we are letting people know that together we can make Nigeria great again. The good news will gradually unfold.”
Also at the launch was ADC Lagos State chairman, Olayiwola Abisoye, Engr. Nnamdi Udoh, Mohammed Farouk Awolu and Oba Olanrewaju of Ekiti among a host of others.
