Former Special Adviser, Communication and Strategy to Senator Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State, Bolaji Tunji has said he dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Accord Party due to the poor management of the crisis that engulfed the party in the aftermath of the primary in the state.

Speaking at the weekend, Tunji who is contesting the State House of Assembly on the platform of the Accord Party said the APC primary was marred by manipulation, with figures written without any election taking place.

“For example, figures were written during the House of Assembly primary  in Ogbomoso North State Constituency without any election taking place and this is what happened in most cases across the State.”

Tunji expressed disappointment with the situation of things in the progressives fold in Oyo State, noting that the 2023 governorship election was for the party to win until the present crisis led to the schism in the progressives fold.

He said efforts were made by many concerned stakeholders to ensure that the crisis was managed, but due to mistrust, selfish and inordinate  ambition, the efforts came to nought.

Tunji who was pioneer Managing Director of New Telegraph newspaper said the crisis could have been nipped in the bud if the National Working Committee (NWC) and National  Executive Council (NEC) of APC had focussed on solving the problems in the party across the different States.

“This was not done and this calls to question the crises management ability of these so called leaders.”
