The Senator representing Anambra South in the National Assembly, Dr. Emmanuel Andy Uba, on Monday, disclosed that  he chose to empower the state chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) because of dearth of infrastructure and facilities available to the party executives in the discharge of their day-to-day activities.

Uba, who made the clarification following his presentation of 24 vehicles to the party executives in the local governments and zonal levels, said the gesture became necessary as a way of helping the party executives   to be of good service to the people and to reposition the party towards full takeover of Anambra Government House after the November governorship election.

“I visited the State headquarters of our party and I was appalled by the dearth of facilities and operational materials for proper functionality befitting of a national ruling party. Upon the formal declaration of my intent to join the APC, I made enquiries about   some of the needs and challenges bothering the party, and I resolved that we must address one or two of them to lift the face and smoothen the operations of the party in the state. So when I went back to Abuja, I met with some of my friends to discuss some of these problems and we concluded that it will be useful to assist the party with at least one operational vehicle for each local government, including the zonal heads “. Andy Uba said.

The lawmaker reiterated further that as the party advances towards the elections, he will continue to do his best to ensure that other demands are met to attain the deserved leadership position come November 18th gubernatorial elections.
