Prolific producer, Michael Ajereh aka Don Jazzy, is taking a look beyond entertainment. With his recent initiative, he has proved that he’s not only a talented artiste but also a wise investor.

The Mavin Records’ boss, in partnership with Tsaboin’s founder, Dele Odufuye last Friday unveiled Flobyt, a free Wi-Fi services installed across partner locations in Lagos.

Speaking at the launch held at Renaissance Hotel, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, Odufuye said the free Wi-Fi services would be available in eateries, parks, taxis, buses, restaurants, cafés and many other outlets.

According to him, the technology is easy to use and free for patrons of a business intending to access the Internet while in the business premises.

“It’s quite easy to use. You simply walk into any of our partner outlets and patronise them. While you are at that, you can log into Flobyt’s free Wi-Fi services available. Join the ‘Flobyt Free Wi-Fi’. If your browser pops up for authentication, just visit www.mavinrecords.com or click on ‘Free Access’ button shown to you,” Odufuye explained.

He added: “We are using state-of-the-art Wi-Fi technology equipment that balances speed, quality of service, security and data consumption. This equipment is lightweight and easier to manage. These are the technological and business edges.”

On his part, Don Jazzy said investing in Flobyt has been his dream come true. Hear him: “I have always wanted to play big in the technology space and I looked for people who were sound and had a beautiful track record. This is my first business investment in the technology space that is public while I remain a silent partner in others.

“I am really interested in driving Flobyt’s reach beyond Lagos. Our Wi-Fi is the fastest in town and those who stream our music and content as entertainers are from the United States and the United Kingdom. We believe that if we improve our services the numbers can improve.”

Don Jazzy further explained that between 10 and 30 people can be connected to Flobyt at the same time while in locations with higher traffic, Flobyt Max can provide Internet service to between 10 and 80 concurrent users.

Relating the free Wi-Fi service to entertainment, Don Jazzy said Flobyt would avail Nigerian artistes an opportunity to make a living from their craft.

“If it benefits my own company, it’s going to benefit every other entertainer. Fellow artistes can now have more people accessing their music, and if you are staging an event, they can invite Flobyt to activate the venue. That way, they can reach their core fans that are gathered at the event,” he stressed.
