The National Chairman of the Super Eagles Supporters Club, Prince Vincent Okumagba has described the Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike as a blessing to Nigeria Sports and a worthy recipient of AIPS AFRICA Power of Sports Award.
Okumagba who shared Wike’s statement that “any individual who is interested in seeing Nigeria remaining as a single united entity will always support sports development”, especially football, reiterated that the Governor was not among those that only paid lip services to sports’ development in their domain.
The supporter boss expressed appreciation to the governor for also supporting The Sun World Cup seminar by hosting the event, adding that Rivers State had become the hub of hosting major sports events including Super Eagles major matches because the governor loves and supports sports.
“Governor Wike has really demonstrated strong willpower in using sport to create peaceful and progressive societies, as well as for achieving national peace and basic development goals, including poverty reduction in the Niger/Delta region.”
