There are strong indications that Nigeria might withdraw from the women’ s Under-20 and Under-17 World Cup tournaments in Jordan next month and Papua New Guinea later in the year, if fillers emanating from the Glass House in Abuja are anything to go by.
A source close to the Glass House who spoke on condition of anonymity said yesterday that the NFF was broke and it is considering of withdrawing from the tourneys due to the paucity of funds.
The Source also informed that due to the non improvement in the financial situation in the football ruling body,Super Eagles quest to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia is seriously threatened as the NFF might not be able to prosecute the Super Eagles’ qualifying matches.
As a result of this, the NFF is said to have written to the Federal Government through the Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung for intervention.
“We have written to the Federal government through the Minister of Youth and Sports to intervene and bail us out of the financial difficulties we are in right now.
The situation is so bad that we doubt if our women’s teams will be able to attend the two FIFA World Cup championships that they have qualified for this year,” the NFF source said.
Continuing, he said : ”The Super Eagles are also affected and in danger of not qualifying for the 2018 World Cup in Russia if the fund paucity persists.
“ But for NFF President Amaju Pinnick who stood as guarantor with a bank, we would not have been able to raise flight tickets for Super Eagles players for the game against Tanzania tomorrow,” the source concluded.
Daily Sunsports further gathered  that the Treasury Single Account (TSA) of federal government is slowing down activities as money is not readily available when needed.
