Movie buffs had a swell time at the media screening for superhero flick, Wonder Woman held at Genesis Cinemas, The Palms, Lekki, Lagos on May 30.
Wonder Woman is the story of Diane, Princess of the Amazons trained to be an unconquerable warrior before she becomes Wonder Woman. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, Diana meets an American pilot who tells her about the massive conflict that is raging in the outside world. Convinced that she can stop the threat, Diana leaves her home, fighting in a war to end all wars and she finally discovers her full powers and true destiny.
The first live action feature film built around the 1941 DC comic book character, Wonder Woman stars Gal Gadot as wonder woman. It also stars Chris Pine and Robin Wright and was directed by Patty Jenkins
Speaking at the screening, an official of Blue Pictures, Tobu Ogunlowo, said: “A lot of people have been anticipating this movie coming to the cinemas and so today is kind of a climax of expectations for movie buffs. The cinematography and sound are wonderful. The movie just premiered in Hollywood and Blue Pictures is already bringing it to Nigerians because we believe in bringing the latest to the country so that as Americans are enjoying it, Nigerians are also enjoying it. What sets this version of Wonder Woman apart is that it has a romantic ring as wonder women finally get to fall in love.”
