Chioma Ajunwa Foundation at the weekend, in Lagos, hosted widows to a Christmas get together.
The Foundation during the event, which took place at the Police College, Ikeja doled out food items, wrappers and cash to the windows.
Speaking at the event, Chioma Ajunwa who is the promoter of the Foundation said she is being motivated to help widows because of her background.
She said her late mother was a widow for over three decades after she (Chioma) lost her father.
“I know how difficult it was for my mother. She went through hell trying to bring me up alongside my siblings. This informs why I have resolved to do my best to touch the life of widows,” Ajunwa said.
She called on government, corporate bodies and international agencies to come to the aid of her Foundation.
In her words…”We are here to honor our mothers. I am delighted to have them here. I want to thank those who have supported us over the years. I am appealing to individuals, government, corporate bodies and international agencies to identify with us to enable us to sustain what we are doing. Our goal is to alleviate the suffering of widows.”
