Anambra Head of Service, Mr Harry Udu, says he has received 100, 000 bags of rice for civil servants and pensioners in the state in preparation for the yuletide.

Udu told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Awka on Thursday that the rice gift was in line with the tradition of Gov. Willie Obiano who fetes workers and other stakeholders in the state with bags of rice every Christmas.

He assured workers in the state and the local government service that they would get their rice gift from the governor, adding that distribution to Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) had started.

The HoS said that all pensioners who retired from the state and local government services would also get their own share of the rice to enable them celebrate Christmas and New Year with ease.
