Aare Onakakanfo of Yoruba land, Iba Gani Adams has urged Nigeria’s clerics to lend their voices against bad leadership at critical period.

Adams said men of God are blessed with voices that usually command respect and reverence that can easily change the course of history at critical times.

He, however,added that remaining silent at such critical moment could hindered the progress of the nation.

Adams gave the charge at the Weekend,at the fifth edition of the annual Aare Onakakanfo Christmas Carol, held in Lagos

The Yoruba generalissimo,while urging the Federal Government to quickly embrace restructuring as the best alternative to salvage the growing hardship, added that the present economic situation in Nigeria is even worse than that of the last year.

“I am appealing to our christian leaders in Nigeria to emulate the South African great cleric Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Archbishop Adetiloye and Bishop Sunday MBA,who lent their voices at critical period for the freedom of their people both in South Africa and Nigeria.

“Our clerics in Nigeria are agents of positive change, they must lend their voices for that positive change and good government.

Adams,maintained that the office of the Aare Onakakanfo Christmas Carol was an idea that had come to stay, assuring that the office would continue to grow from strength to strength.

In his Sermon,Minister In Charge of the Saviours Ministry, Alausa, Lagos Most Senior Apostle,Segun Samuel who spoke on the theme titled:” His Name Shall Be Called Jesus,said the verse, taken from Matt: 1 verse 21,was a reflection of God’s grace and countless blessings to humanity.

The man of God, restated the need for unity and love, saying the only solution to the chronic problems in Nigeria is for the Nigerian leaders to love the followers absolutely.

“We are in a season of love.This is the best time for the Federal Government to show love, and compassion and also spread the joy by providing necessary facilities for the people”.

Wife of the Aare Onakakanfo of Yoruba land,Ayinba Mojisola Adams,in her closing remains said the reason for the Christmas Carol is in fulfillment of the office of Aare Onakakanfo of Yoruba land’s dream to bridge the gap among all the religious institution.

While thanking all the clerics,the guests and the Aareonakakanfo Planning Committee for the success of the Christmas Carol,she urged those that are wealthy to spread their hands of generousity to the poor.

Let us use the period to extend our hands of generousity to the poor as that would go a long way in helping those that could not withstand this harsh economy.
