A Federal High Court sitting in Gusau, Zamfara State has dismissed the case filed by the All Progressives Congress faction of former governor Abdul Aziz Yari, challenging the dissolution of the state party’s Exco by Mai Mala Buni.
The judgement, handed by Justice Aminu Bappa Aliyu on Friday said the court has dismissed the case for lack of jurisdiction.
The judge said the case filed by the Yari’s APC faction was purely an internal crisis, adding that ““This is purely an internal crisis. It is a party affair, as such, the case is hereby dismissed because this honourable court lacks jurisdiction to entertain the case,” said Bappa.
However, the Counsel to former governor Yari, Barrister Bello Gusau told journalists that they would study the case before taking any further action.
Meanwhile, addressing journalists immediately after the ruling, the spokesperson of Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa, Bello Bakyaauwa described the judgement as a predetermined one.
“We expected that the court would dismiss the case today because former governor Ahmed Sani Yariman Bakura has already told the world that this case will be dismissed.
“So we are not surprised to hear the Judge’s pronouncement,” concluded Bakyaauwa.
The state’s APC Publicity Secretary of Governor Bello Matawalle’s faction, Alhaji Yusuf Idris commended the court for its judgement.
