The Zamfara State Government has awarded contract  to construct road linking  about seven  communities in Tsafe Local Government Area at the cost of N8.6 billion.

Deputy Governor of the state, Alhaji Ibrahim Wakkala Muhammad, made the disclosure while commissioning a 100 bed  hospital in Yankuzo town constructed by Tsafe Local Government  Area of the state.

Wakkala said, road is an integral part of economic development of the society hence the resolve by  the present administration in the state to prioritize road development to empower the people particularly those in the rural and remote areas of the state.

The deputy governor assured the people that the link road which also links neighbouring Katsina State will be completed before 2019 as governor Abdul’Aziz Yari Abubakar has promised not to come  to Yankuzo or any of the affected communities for 2019 campaign if the road was not completed then.

“The administration of Governor Abdul Aziz Yari Abubakar has done a lot towards roads construction and will still do more roads. Many roads projects including those belonging to Federal government  have been constructed or rehabilitated within the last six years of his administration,” he said.

Wakkala added all other important roads in the state that are in dilapidating stages would also be rehabilitated or reconstructed before the end of his tenure.

The road links Yandoto, Chediya, Hayin Alhaji, Yan  Waren  Daji, Yankuzo and Dauki communities.
