Zara, tell us more about your journey and how you became a leading name in your field.
Initially, sustaining myself in America was really difficult. I had to learn a new language, get my medical license and make a living. There were times when my skills were underestimated because I couldn’t express myself clearly in English. As time passed by, I picked up the language and made connections which helped me out. I always wanted to have my own practice, and hence, I started my clinic, CRMC Aesthetics. I still keep learning and implementing the best treatments for my clients. Getting to where I now am was difficult, but I am glad that I did not give up. With time, effort, dedication, and passion for your craft, success becomes a by-product.
Why did you choose the medical aesthetics industry?
I wanted to help others feel and look their best and live life on their own terms. That’s why I chose this industry. It gives me great joy to see my patients fall in love with themselves and become more confident and comfortable in their skin. I am passionate about my work, and I want to have a positive impact on people’s lives. The medical aesthetics industry allowed me to reach out to people and positively impact their lives.
If you had one piece of advice to give to aspiring aestheticians, what would it be?
The first thing I want to say is that a lot of work goes into becoming an aesthetician and if you’ve set out on this path, you should be prepared to give it your all. Set your goal, and every time you face a hurdle, remind yourself of your goal and get back up again. Be curious and learn a lot, both about the field and your clients. It is necessary to know exactly what your clients need. Be confident in your work, and don’t let anyone put you down. There is no substitute for hard work, and in the end, it is absolutely worth every ounce of effort.
What do you think is the key to your success?
Through all the challenges I faced, I always remembered my roots. I had left everything behind to pursue my passion, and I made a resolve to never give up. Even in a male-dominated industry, I was never afraid to stand for my beliefs. I believe that having the courage to face challenges head-on and staying focused on my goals has helped me become who I am today.
